		<description>I think your on to something here.  I agree with you about the spending in sports compared to the price of teachers being paid, but the answer that lays before you is simple.

Money is created by money.  I grew up in a large football school.  Our school gave most of its money to a losing football team, built a new stadium, the works.  The only thing that was given in return?  Prominence in the local high school sports world for future tournaments and championship games.  Also pepsi even bought the naming rights for the field for mega bucks.

It all comes down to money, and your right, teachers provide something more for the kids......but what does the school gain out of it?  If its a public school, they get few grants towards their education fund.  But for sports, there is just so much more of an opportunity to line their wallets, while sacrificing knowledge of the greater good.  I wish it weren&#039;t like it, but thats the way this corrupt world has become.
